Sareeh wins second place in the Sharaf AI competition, nationwide in Syria 🥈
Sareeh has won second place in the Sharaf AI competition at the national level in Syria, placing it among the leading Syrian projects putting artificial intelligence to work on real problems.
At Sareeh, AI doesn't write opinions on people's behalf — it helps people read them. It condenses what customers say about each business into a quick overview, turns spoken reviews into written text, and translates reviews written in Syrian dialect into English while keeping their spirit intact.
One principle governs all of it: everything AI shows on Sareeh is built on reviews from real people with verified identities. The technology serves trust — it never replaces it.
Sareeh passes 500 reviews — every one from a verified identity ✅
Sareeh has crossed the 500 published reviews mark for Syrian businesses, reaching 501 reviews across 419 businesses.
The more important number isn't the volume. Every single one of these reviews — without a single exception — was written from an account verified via WhatsApp. No anonymous reviews, no unverified accounts, and not one opinion without a real person behind it.
This is the difference Sareeh was built on from day one: in a market full of paid and fake reviews, an opinion's value doesn't come from how many there are, but from who wrote it.
Sareeh reaches the finals of the National Technology Competition 🏆
Sareeh has qualified for the final round of the National Technology Competition held in Latakia, joining a select group of tech projects that reached the last stage nationwide.
Qualification followed an evaluation of the idea's viability, the product's maturity and its potential to grow — the same standards Sareeh has been built on from day one: genuine reviews from identity-verified users, and insights that give business owners a clear picture of what their customers are really saying.
Sareeh secures backing in Damascus's first investment round 💼
Sareeh received support in the First Investment Round competition held in Damascus, after presenting its business model to a panel of investors and specialists.
The backing recognizes that Sareeh is not just a promising tech project but a business model that can grow in a real market — a market where our field research found that 69% of people had paid for a service and regretted it.
Major updates to the Sareeh app 📱
We've recently focused on making Sareeh smarter, livelier and closer to your everyday needs. Here are the highlights:
- 🗺️ Explore Syria on the map — browse every business on an interactive map, with a clear pin for your location and quick filtering by business type. Ideal for expats who want to get to know Syria before they arrive.
- 🌐 Instant AI translation — the app automatically translates business descriptions and reviews into English, at high quality and tuned specifically for colloquial Syrian expressions.
- 📋 Shared lists — build a list of your favorite places ("Study cafés in Damascus", for example) and share it with friends on WhatsApp in one tap.
- 🏅 Recognition badges — the Sareeh team can now award special badges that appear next to your name and reviews, recognizing your contributions to the community.
- 🎨 A completely new design — a livelier interface: a personal greeting on the home screen, sections with their own colors (Trending 🔥, Top Rated 🏆), and a clearer business page with a stats bar and photos from the place.
- 🎥 Video reviews — attach short clips to your review for an experience that's more honest and more convincing than photos alone.
- ⚙️ More improvements — an in-app alert when a new update is available, a fix so all reviews show instead of only the first page, and ongoing stability and speed improvements.
